Hurricane Hunters


US Air Force (USAF), National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration
(NOAA) pilots and scientists are the hurricane hunters who fly into the middle of a
hurricane to obtain up-to-the-minute weather data on storms. Reconnaissance
aircraft was used for hurricane exploration in 1944. After that, different planes
have been used in exploring hurricanes from certain altitude and certain path to
increase the level of safety during collecting essential weather data. Nowadays, the
National Hurricane Center, USAF and NOAA coordinate the activities of exploring
hurricanes in better ways. The USAF pilots fly long missions using use latest weather
instruments and dropsondes to search for signs of a closed circulation of storms.
Dropsondes are dropped out from the plane into the center of the storm to get
more accurate data about the weather conditions and this data is transmitted to
meteorologists to decide the type and the state of the storm. NOAA hurricane
hunters take over mature hurricane that happen close to the USA using latest
technologies in collecting accurate data for hurricane forecasters. Hurricane
hunters will continue to carry out the shaky flights and they will use eye-wall into
these storms for collecting weather data for more foreseeable future.

Global warming

Global warming

Global warming has been a major issue around the world. It has caused a gradual increased in temperature which affected many lives. What can we do about global warming? How can we reduce the effects of global warming? These two questions should be answered by people from around the world, but unfortunately they don’t. The social reaction to global warming can start with any human being who lives on the earth. However, there are some certain activities that humans can do as a solution to reduce the effects of greenhouse gases more than others.

Here is a list of solutions that can help us slow climate change (Knox, 2015).
The list of solutions for climate change mitigation includes several options. The first solution is to reuse and recycle products which means, they produce wrapping and shipping new products by using fossil fuel. The second solution is to limit air conditioning and heating use, which is changing the thermostat and by adding insulation. These two things that can decrease the amount of burned fossil fuel at power stations. Also, there is solution by spending less hot water and this can be done by taking faster and cooler showers instead of taking a long and hot shower.
(Knox, 2015).

At the end, global warning is a big problem that affects on humanity, animals, plants and
everything, So, Everyone must know the effects, causes and consequences of this world problem. Therefore, we must start from today in solving the causes, which leads to reducing their effects.

Research meteorologist

North, south, east, and west, wherever you where meteorologists are there.
Being a meteorologist does not mean to see the weather and aware the public
about it, no; it means to study the whole atmosphere and how it affects the
population. Meteorologist Along with that, meteorologists can work in various careers and one of them
is to be a research meteorologist which I will be writing about. So, a research
meteorologist is the person who do a specific research about a certain area,
with a detailed information about the weather there.

 

Research meteorologist studies the severe weather and the changes that affect the climate, also they can help the other meteorologists by developing several equipment such as radar or the weather models (Noaa,2015).
Furthermore, meteorologists use the data that they got to predict and
understand the conditions of the severe or the dangerous weather. Along
with that, an examples of research meteorologists are the people who work as
a storm chaser. Chasing thunderstorms is dangerous, but storm chasers are
trained to gather data which will help people to understand the behaviour of
storms to decrease the damages and deaths. Storm chasers face several hazards
such as: large hail, lightning, and heavy rains, but to start working as storm
chaser you might have an excellent knowledge about thunderstorms and
geography (Ackerman,2015).
In addition, working as hurricane hunter is one of the career options for the
research meteorologist. Hurricane hunting’s aim is to get information about
the storms that cannot be obtained by the other equipment. To get the data,
hurricane hunters drop dropsondes that provide information about the
weather condition during the storm (Ackerman,2015).

Weather observation ( Airlines )

Meteorology is “a branch of the atmospheric sciences which includes atmospheric chemistry and atmospheric physics, with a major focus on weather forecasting.” There are many careers that fit for the meteorologist such as operational forecaster, military , Electric companies , Road crews and city managers but the most accurate and unbearable function is to work in the airlines as a weather observer.

The weather observation is the organization and the control of the movement of aircraft in the takeoff, landing and during the trip, where the weather and climate should be fit for the movements. The observer maintains the safety of the aircraft collectively; but when the safety is affected individually; the pilot is the end. In the latter, his life is directly endangered, not the air observer. According to FAA regulations and regulations, air transport has the highest authority over all ground personnel in relation to air operations. The flight is responsible for the planning of the trip, the safety of the flight, the delay of the journey, the change of course of the flight, the suspension or cancellation of the flight within the framework of the responsibilities entrusted to him, his responsibility is very sensitive. There are three tasks that the weather observer should do before the flight. First, the Preparation of weather reports in the country of departure and arrival country, the weather maps in the upper atmosphere, and ensuring the validity of all devices and navigation in the country of departure, country of arrival and the routes of the aircraft, ensuring flight validity of the flight in coordination with the maintenance department, The duration of the flight / altitude of the aircraft shall include the air passages of the aircraft, the amount of cargo to be carried on the aircraft, the request for permission to cross the airspace and landing from other countries if necessary . Second, start with the question, can the journey be conducted with complete safety? , Should the flight be delayed due to temporary obstacles such as bad weather conditions or disruption of air navigation devices, should the trip be canceled because of obstacles affecting the safety of the flight and whether the flight line should be changed to avoid some road obstacles. Third, When the air relay confirms that all factors are appropriate and lawful for the conduct of the journey, it shall then place all the papers and documents of the flight in an envelope called (the “flight envelope”) for subsequent surrender to the flight commander.Processing of the Air Deportation authorization form (Flight DISPATCH RELEASE), which is in the form of a travel approval document and contains the amount of fuel required for the alternative flight/airport that can be landed if the arrival station cannot be landed/the allowable weight of the flight/name of the flight commander and the name of the aircraft relay , and then to inform the flight commander when he attends the Air deportation office of all navigational and technical information of the journey and to discuss with him all factors affecting the journey, The flight then departs according to the agreed planning between the air relay and the pilot. Furthermore , this not enough also during the flight he has many tasks like, Keeping track of the journey from the time of departure until its arrival through the wireless connection between the flight commander and the air relay to see the real date of takeoff, the expected time of arrival, points crossed by the aircraft and the weather in the upper atmosphere, observing and recording any change in the itinerary and arrival times To provide competent departments with such information, immediately inform the flight commander of any new information that may affect the flight, develop appropriate alternatives and report with the emergency flight commander either landing at the nearest convenient airport or returning to the departure or continuing station and landing at the arrival station, providing Assist the pilot in the event of an emergency technical defect using his references or the delivery of the flight commander with maintenance officials, after the arrival of the flight information is exchanged between the air Force and flight commanders to identify the obstacles encountered (if any) in order to be avoided for future flights.
